The sheer inability of the opposition to halt the tyrannical legislation and illegal behaviour of a minority government really does explain a lot about the ridiculous state of our political class.

It has recently come out that the government of Canada has been secretly tracking the mobile data of the overwhelming majority of all Canadians as a “Public Health” measure, with no concern for the obvious privacy rights being violated on such a large scale. As reported by the Rebel, however, the Public Health Agency is basically going to war with the House ethics committee, which is attempting to bring the despotic Public Health Agency back into line.

Back in December 2021, Sheila Gunn Reid broke the story of Health Canada’s tender posting that requested access to cell-tower and operator locations under the guise of assisting the COVID-19 response.

A mere few weeks later, it became public knowledge that the federal government secretly tracked 33 million Canadians

…the “ethics committee held an emergency meeting during Parliament’s winter break, where Conservative, Bloc Quebecois and NDP MPs raised privacy concerns.”

Conservative ethics committee member John Brassard is quoted as saying that he still has “significant concerns what security protocols and measures were put in place to protect privacy when they [Health Canada] secretly collected the mobility data of 33 million Canadians.”

This is just another example of the state using the pretext of crisis, fabricated or not to massively expand its power and influence. I’ve talked about this tracking on my show This Week in Clown World before, but it’s important to remember this as it’s not something we can simply ignore as we focus on the upcoming Conservative Party leadership race. Opposition to these policies will give Tories a springboard into the next election, so focusing on who we select as leader has never been more important. Simply supporting someone who claims to oppose these policies is not good enough, the candidate has to have a genuinely positive voting record.

My confidence in the Tories to save Canada is not very high to say the least, and if any indication shows based on who was selected as interim leader (Candice Bergen), my support for the People’s Party has only grown stronger.

Literally me when the Tories refuse to fight against GPS tracking and hate speech legislation.

The sheer inability of the opposition to halt the tyrannical legislation and illegal behaviour of a minority government really does explain a lot about the ridiculous state of our political class. The right wing in Canada literally just doesn’t do anything.

The information gathered by public health snoops could be used for a host of sinister applications, like locating underground, restriction-free churches, uncovering modern-day speakeasies where bartenders don’t vax card customers, checking the number of people at family gatherings, or determining the known associates of COVID-scofflaws.

China uses a similar system, called social credit, wherein the Communist government monitors the purchases, travel, relationships and behaviors of citizens through cell phone apps and location data. This aggregated data is then used by the state to rate the civic suitability of citizens and then bureaucrats punish or reward accordingly.

When the coming location data scoop by the Canadian government is put into context with the vaccine passport system, it’s glaringly obvious that another uncounted fatality of the pandemic was privacy.

The importance of supporting the ethics committee in fighting back the privacy violations being pushed by the Trudeau government is significant, we cannot allow another complacent, impotent liberal party leader like Erin O’Toole to get the job, as this leader will just sit back and watch as the Canadian people are raped by their own government.
